The project consists in remodelling a small beach apartment in the municipality of Torredembarra that comprises 30 m2 plus a 7 m2 balcony that needed updating. The general layout is maintained, but a variety of strategies is used to maximise space, visually and physically extend the living area, and promote the use of outdoor space, incorporating it into the rest of the dwelling’s areas. The project enhances the relationship between indoor and outdoors by reinforcing the arrangement of the brief in two strips separated by a wooden fixture.

A new wooden structure is introduced to bring together most of the storage space in the dwelling freeing it up of furniture and organising new relationships between the spaces. This structure includes the bathroom door and shelving in the form of an openwork lattice that provides a minimum filter between the living room and the bedroom. The chosen materials are all light-coloured and reduced to a minimum: the floor is paved with 60×60 cm ceramic tiles, all the vertical claddings and finishes are painted white to maximise the light, and the wooden fixtures are made of pine.
